How the Eye works?

Labeled Human Eye Diagram The human eye is the very important organ as it gives the sense of sight to see the world around us. It detects bright light or dim light but it cannot sense the object in the absence of light. What we see is called the light. Light passes through the cornea, pupil and lens before hitting the retina. PARTS OF THE EYE  The  outer part called cornea is the clear bulging surface in front of the eye.  The sclera is the white part of the eye. The iris  is the colorful part of the eye. It decides the amount of light passes through the pupil and thus controls the size of the pupil. The pupil is the black circle in the center of the iris. The pupils will get smaller when the light shines near them and they'll open wider when the light is gone. The vitreous body is the biggest part of the eye and is also responsible for the shape of the eye. The lens , an inner part of the eye lies behind the iris. It focuses light onto the retina and changes shape to ma

What is Glaucoma?

Glaucoma is a  condition of high pressure within the eyeball causing gradual loss of sight. According to the World Health Organization, Glaucoma is considered as the second leading cause of blindness (behind cataracts)in the global level . In simple words, Glaucoma is a complicated eye disease caused by high eye pressure, and if left untreated causes permanent vision loss or blindness. It is called the “Sneak Thief of Sight” or “Silent Thief of Sight”. How the Eye works? Eyes The eye works very much like an old-style camera. In the camera, the light comes in through the shutter, is focused by the lens, falls onto the film and them we take it to be processed. In the eye, light comes in through the cornea and pupil. It is focused by the lens, falling onto the film in the eye (the retina) and then goes, via the optic nerve (the nerve of sight), to the brain (the processor) for developing. The shape of the eye is achieved through the circulation of a clear fluid (aqueous

Improve Vision - Eye News

Video games helps to improve vision. Playing action video games can boost an aspect of adult vision previously thought to be fixed, a US study shows. Researchers found playing the games improved the ability to notice even very small changes in shades of grey against a uniform background. "Contrast sensitivity" is important in situations such as driving at night, or in conditions of poor visibility. The Nature Neuroscience study raises the possibility of using a video game training regime to improve vision. Contrast sensitivity is often one of the first aspects of vision to be affected by ageing.  It can also be affected by conditions such as amblyopia, known as "lazy eye". Improving contrast sensitivity usually requires physical changes in eye optics, through eye surgery, glasses or contact lenses. A team from the University of Rochester studied expert video game players playing games involving aiming and shooting at virtual targets. They found
